| COMPOSITION |
250 mg./500 mg./125 mg. disp. orange flavoured tablet/dry Syrup : Each tablet contains : Amoxycillin Trihydrate I.P. Euivalent to 250 mg./500 mg./125 mg. of amoxycilln. Dry syrup - after-reconstitution. Each 5 ml. contains : Amoxycillin Trihydrate I.P. equivalent to 125 mg. of Amoxycillin. |
| INDICATIONS |
Respiratory, genito-urinary, skin and soft tissue, ENT infection caused bye Pneumococci, Streptococci, Staphylococci, H. Influenzae, E. Coli and other susceptible oganisms; Chamydia Trachomatis in pregnacy, Meningitis due to susceptible strains, enteric fever, gonococcal urethritis, bacteremia, septicaemia. |
| MODE OF ACTION |
Acts by interfering with becterial cell wall synthesis. |
| ONSET OF ACTION |
1 to 2 hours. |
| DURATION OF ACTION |
8 hours. |
| ADVERSE EFFECT |
Nausea, epigastric distress, diarrhoes, skin rash, especially in patients with mononucleosis, urticaria and serum sickness, thromobocytopenic purpura, leucopenia and eosinophilia, pseudomembranous colitis, super infection. |
| CONTRAINDICATION |
Hypersensitivity to Penicillin. |
| DRUG INTERACTIONS |
Oral contraceptive, erythromycin, tetracycline. |
| DOSES |
Adults : 250 to 500 mg. thrice daily. Gonorrhoea : single dose of 3 gm., Enteric fever : 2 or 4 gm. daily in divided doses for 14 to 21 days. Children : 20 to 40 mg. per Kg. body weight per day in 3 divided doses. Enteric fever : 50 to 100 mg. per Kg. Per day in 3 divided doses for 14 to 21 days. |
