250 mg. capsule/500 mg. capsule/125 mg. disp. tablet. : Each capsule/tablet contains: Cephalexin 250 mg./500 mg./125 mg. respectively. |
| INDICATIONS |
Respiratory, genito-urinary, skin and soft tissue, bone and joint infections, ENT infections, dental infections. |
| MODE OF ACTION |
Acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis; the autolytic enzymes in cell wall may also be activated leading to bacterial death. |
| ONSET OF ACTION |
Within one hour. |
| DURATION OF ACTION |
6 to 12 hours. |
| ADVERSE EFFECT |
Skin rash, urticaria, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and neutropenia. |
| CONTRAINDICATION |
Hypersensitivity to Cephalosporin |
| SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS |
Prolonged use, renal impairment. |
| DRUG INTERACTIONS |
Probenecid, Aminoglycosides. |
| DOSES |
Adult: 1 to 4 gm. daily to be given in 4 equal divided doses. Children :25to50mg.perKg.bodyweightdaily in 4 divided doses. |
