| COMPOSITION |
Each tablet contains Gliclazide 80 mg & Metformin 500 mg. |
| INDICATIONS |
When diet and metformin or a sulfonylurea alone do not result in adequate glycemic control in patients with NIDDM. |
| MODE OF ACTION |
The combination may have a synergistic effect, since both agents act to improve glucose tolerance by different but complementary mechanisms. |
| ADVERSE EFFECT |
Skin rash, urticaria, blood dyscrasias, hypoglycemia. |
| CONTRAINDICATION |
Severe renal and hepatic failure, diabetic precoma and coma, keto-acidosis, pregnancy. |
| SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS |
Adjust dose of combination according to blood and urinary glucose levels during the first few months. |
| DOSES |
1 to 2 tablets once or twice daily with meals; maximum 4 tablets daily. |
