| MODE OF ACTION |
Acts on CNS to produce analgesia and anti pyretic effect, has less anti-inflammatory action in therapeutic doses. |

| ADVERSE EFFECT |
Nausea, epigastric distress. Rarely it can cause skin rash. Acute Toxicity may result in hepatic failure. |
| CONTRAINDICATION |
Analgesic nephropathy. |
| SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS |
Long term use may predispose to chronic renal disease. |
| DRUG INTERACTIONS |
Choleslyramine and charcoal reduce absorption of paracetamol. Domperidone & Metoclopromide enhance absorption of paracetamol. |
| DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: |
Children - 15mg/kg per dose or 60mg/kg per 24 hr dividend every six hours. Max 5 doses SOS (each dose 0-3 months -40mg.; 4-11 months 80 mgmg.; 1-6yrs 125-250mg; 6-12yrs 250-500mg. |
